Well, number of rivers passes through different states of my country and now I would like to talk about the most important river of my country, and it is The Ganga" about which I read in my school books. It originates from a place known as "Gangotri" in Himalayas and from there it passes through different eastern states of my country and finally empties in the Bay of Bengal" This river is extremely important because it is more like a lifeline for my country. The water of this river is used for so many different purposes. First of all, India is an agricultural state, so the water of this river is used for irrigation, at the same time its fresh water is used for drinking and other domestic purposes. Moreover, fishing industry also heavily depend on this river and livelihood of many fishermen depends on it. In fact, it is one of the longest river of my country that connects different states, so it is also used for transportation Interestingly, these days it has become very popular among tourists as people enjoy various adventurous water sports in this river, especially rafting, canoeing and boating. Last but not least, it is considered as the most auspicious river of my country because Hindus consider it as a goddess, and take a holy dip in the water of river Ganga.
Unfortunately, these days it is in a very miserable condition due to excessive pollution of domestic and industrial waste However, the government is taking lots of measures to improve the situation of this river Overall, it is one of the most important rivers of my country.
